Shade family

Fiesta brown colors

Brown is the shortest chapter in Fiesta's palette: two colors, Chocolate in 2008 and Paprika in 2010, neither still made. That brevity says something about how brown behaves on a table. It is the one family that reads as earth rather than as color, and it tends to compete with food instead of setting it off - a brown plate under a brown stew does neither any favors. Both arrived during Fiesta's push into lifestyle and bakeware ranges, where a warm neutral made more sense than it did on a dinner plate. Paprika, the redder of the two, ran twice as long.

Fiesta has used 2 brown glazes since 2008, starting with Chocolate and most recently Paprika in 2010. None are in production today.

Brown is Fiesta's own grouping, not a measurement. Sorted by hue angle instead, some colors land in a different band than their name suggests. See the whole palette sorted by the rainbow →
