Shade family

Fiesta purple colors

Purple is the newest family Fiesta committed to - Lilac arrived in 1993, more than fifty years after the original five - and it remains the rarest, with just five colors. Lilac itself lasted only two years, which makes it one of the hardest Post 86 colors to assemble a set in. Purple's association with luxury is not a marketing invention: Tyrian purple was genuinely ruinous to produce in the ancient world, and the color carried that cost as status for centuries afterwards. On a table it still reads as deliberate rather than casual. Lavender, the 2026 ninetieth-anniversary color, is the one now in production.

Fiesta has used 5 purple glazes since 1993, starting with Lilac and most recently Lavender in 2026. 1 is in production today: Lavender. They run from Lavender at the light end to Mulberry at the dark end; Plum has had the longest run of any purple.

Purple is Fiesta's own grouping, not a measurement. Sorted by hue angle instead, some colors land in a different band than their name suggests. See the whole palette sorted by the rainbow →
