Shade family

Fiesta orange colors

Orange is Fiesta's smallest bright family and its most reliably cheerful: five colors since Apricot in 1986, of which only Poppy is still made. Orange sits between red's urgency and yellow's brightness without fully committing to either, which is why it tends to work better as an accent than as a whole setting. Fiesta's oranges have ranged from Apricot's pale, almost peach cast through to Poppy, which is the most saturated glaze the company has ever put on a plate. Butterscotch, retired in 2024, is the one people most often ask after.

Fiesta has used 5 orange glazes since 1986, starting with Apricot and most recently Butterscotch in 2020. 1 is in production today: Poppy. They run from Apricot at the light end to Butterscotch at the dark end; Tangerine has had the longest run of any orange.

Orange is Fiesta's own grouping, not a measurement. Sorted by hue angle instead, some colors land in a different band than their name suggests. See the whole palette sorted by the rainbow →
