Poppy is the most saturated glaze Fiesta has ever produced - nothing else in sixty-one colors carries as much pure color. It arrived in 2014, the same year Black and Peacock both retired and the Bistro shape family launched, and it's still in production. It's a fiery orange-red, darker and considerably more intense than the Tangerine it took over from. Use it carefully: it's a lead color in the strongest sense, and two or three settings will carry an entire table. Put it next to neutrals and it sings; put it next to another saturated color and they fight.
Using Poppy on a table
Poppy carries enough color to lead a table on its own. Use it for the plates and let quieter pieces do the rest; two or three settings of it go a long way. Its mid lightness (L* 56) means most food reads against it without either washing out or vanishing. It nearly disappears against a white cloth (3.6:1), so it shows best on dark wood or a colored runner.
