Introducing Foundry, not an official Fiesta color but made by The Fiesta Tableware Company from 2016 to current production. It's a bold and industrial shade of black, with the rugged texture of cast iron. Foundry adds a touch of modernity and sophistication to any tablescape. Mix and match Foundry with colors like Ivory and Lemongrass for a contemporary and chic table setting, or pair it with Plum and Poppy for a dramatic and striking combination.

Foundry is in production right now. Fiesta Factory Direct is the factory's own store, in Newell, West Virginia - the same plant that made the piece.

Foundry is the odd one out. Introduced in 2016 for Fiesta's 80th anniversary, it isn't counted as an official Fiesta color by the company - it's a separate line with a distinctly different surface, a rugged cast-iron texture rather than the usual gloss. It's near-black and it's still in production, which makes it the only dark option currently available since Black and Slate both retired. As a charger under a bright color it's excellent; as a full setting it's a commitment. If you're cataloguing a collection, be aware it carries No. 20000 rather than a standard number in the 300s.
Using Foundry on a table
Foundry carries almost no color of its own, so it is the layer everything else sits on. Build the table out of it and add one loud piece. At L* 5 it is a genuinely dark plate, so pale food stands out on it and dark food disappears. It separates strongly from a white cloth (18.9:1) and less so from dark wood.
