Mulberry ran six years, 2018 to 2024, and it's a deep, dark purple with a lot of red in it. It arrived the year Fiesta opened its Atlanta showroom, replacing Sage on the shelf. The thing to know: it sits only ΔE 5 from Plum, which retired in 2015 - close enough that side by side most people can't reliably separate them, and close enough that they shouldn't really share a table. It retired in 2024 with Lemongrass and Butterscotch. Lavender, the 2026 color, is much lighter and represents a complete change of direction for the purple family.
Using Mulberry on a table
Mulberry has enough color to be noticed without taking over, which makes it a good second or third piece - a salad plate or a serving bowl rather than the whole setting. At L* 15 it is a genuinely dark plate, so pale food stands out on it and dark food disappears. It separates strongly from a white cloth (15.1:1) and less so from dark wood.
