Peacock ran nine years, 2005 to 2014, and it's a clean mid-blue with real brightness to it - noticeably lighter and more vivid than the Juniper it replaced. It arrived the same year Rose and Sea Mist Green both retired, which was a fairly dramatic clear-out. It sits close to Periwinkle Blue, and if you're comparing listings for the two, Peacock is the stronger, less lavender of the pair. Lapis took over the blue slot in 2013 and is darker again. Peacock's nine-year run means there's plenty of it about, which makes it one of the easier retired blues to collect.
Using Peacock on a table
Peacock has enough color to be noticed without taking over, which makes it a good second or third piece - a salad plate or a serving bowl rather than the whole setting. Its mid lightness (L* 58) means most food reads against it without either washing out or vanishing. It nearly disappears against a white cloth (3.4:1), so it shows best on dark wood or a colored runner.
