Notes on Jade

Jade arrived in 2023 and is still in production. It's a deep, cool green - considerably darker than the Meadow it overlapped with, and one of the few genuinely dark colors currently available. That depth makes it behave more like a neutral anchor than an accent: pale food reads beautifully on it. It's the closest thing in current production to the original 1936 Light Green (ΔE 10), which makes it a reasonable modern partner for vintage pieces. With Evergreen long retired, Jade is the only dark green Fiesta currently makes.

Using Jade on a table

Jade has enough color to be noticed without taking over, which makes it a good second or third piece - a salad plate or a serving bowl rather than the whole setting. At L* 27 it is a genuinely dark plate, so pale food stands out on it and dark food disappears. It separates strongly from a white cloth (10.6:1) and less so from dark wood.
